One of the most extraordinary presentattions of the Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI took place in Great Britain. The car succeeded in towing the 155 tons Boeing 747-200. To do it, Touareg V10 was loaded with 4.3 tons of ballast and the general weight of the vehicle was 7 tons. We emphasize that the engine, suspension, wheels, tires and construction of the test car were the same like in the serial car, accept the main transmission gear ratio, borrowed from theV8 engine model.
The car, which dragged the plane to a distance of 150 meters, was driven by Uwe Krieghoff. He shared his impressions after testing Touareg V10 capabilities. He said that he was a little upset because they couldn’t find anything heavier and dragging the Boeing 747-200 was an easy task for Touareg V10! Journalists who followed this event, verified the technical condition of the car and noted that both the engine, transmission, and tires were in good condition.
