The UK Nissan dealers have used a particular method of advertising to promote 370Z Roadster and GT-R models. The essence of the promo compaing consists of placing a “speaking» slogans on board of the direct German rivals. At the same posters, which are hanging around the city, the “Japanese” throw mud at them without any shame.
Audi TT and Porsche Cayman has got under the hot hand first of all. These vehicles, along with a roadster from BMW have always been in high demand at the Foggy Albion. That is why Nissan has decided to throw a couple of heavy stones to their side. For example, on board of the Audi TT the banner can be seen with the word “More expensive, slower and less powerful than the Nissan 370Z”. Cayman also had the honor to inform spectators on the streets of London, that “It wants to be as quick as the Nissan 370Z”.
Also the cities are full of posters with hard-to-translate German words, which could easily be perceived as nationalist slogans. The mentioned above BMW Z4 and Porsche Boxster have been chosen as victims.
But the most interesting is the opinion of the Nissan marketing director, Steve Mclennan. “By this we simply challenge the global conviction that the German sports cars are the standard of quality and dynamic performance. We are confident in the abilities of 370Z and GT-R, which can outshine our competitors in terms of capacity and accessibility, and now it is time to shout about it” – said Mclennan.
