American passion for muscle cars is known worldwide and now many car manufacturers are looking to restore the American idols of 70ies. Chevy Camaro is one of that crew, which boasts with legendary history, army of admires and tons of victories. No wonder, that the representative of the last Camaro generation is a demanded guest in every automotive TV shows. Fifth gear is not an exception and one of its episodes was devoted to that legendary muscle. Jason Plato was testing Chevy Camaro SS, describing its performance and dynamic features.
During the whole episode Jason was comparing it with Porsche Cayman. For example 0-60 mph the new Camaro SS reaches for 5 seconds, which is 1 second faster then Cayman. Also Chevy’s power is about 426 hp and Cayman has 320 hp. The difference is pretty big, but lets think clearly about this. Cayman is not the top sports car and not even a middle one. Camaro SS is equipped with 6.2 L engine and Cayman S has 3.4L motor. So as you can see, Germans take 320 hps from the volume twice less Camaro SS has.
Jason Plato has got sweat while driving Chevy. I bet that Cayman is driven far more easier. Camaro has finally got the independent rear suspension, which is an ordinary thing for European cars. So to resume all, Camaro is a typical muscle car and the coolest one among the muscle admirers, but it still to far to be compared with the top sports vehicle.
