Audi A5 does not work any more: The RS 5 is the new flagship model of the A5 model line and will celebrate at the Geneva Motor Show 2010 World Premiere.
By Jan Kretzmann this is the end to the secrecy, as “Audi now lets the cat out of the bag”. Since the first RS5 spy photos that were posted in the internet, Audi has finally finished all the arrangements and released RS 5th overview for the 2010 Geneva Motors. Above all V8 fans will cheer that the RS 5 super coupe is not wearing V6 as S5 Convertible and Sportback under the hood, but was supplied with 4.2 liter eight-cylinder engine that operates on the high-revving, 450 hp as standard distributed on all four wheels – just quattro all-wheel drive technology. The engine is closely related to the V10 in the Audi R8, and can hunt in speed ranges up to 8250 tour – so he cries almost on a par with the four-liter V8 from the current BMW M3 (up 8300/min).
The mentioned Audi’s 10.8 liter average fuel consumption will be creating during extreme driving. It is shifted over the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox S tronic. In addition to the three driving modes “Auto”, “Comfort” and “Dynamic” gearbox has also a launch control for a better acceleration from 0.
Audi RS5 uses a new technique – A center differential distributes power between front and rear wheels. Thanks to its disk packs, it can vary distribution of moments. The tightly tuned suspension makes the RS 5-Body 20 mm deep across the asphalt mine as a civilian A5. 19 inch alloy wheels with 265/35 sized tires are standard for Audi A5. The brakes has vented discs on the front axle. On request, Audi mounts even discs made of ceramic.
The face of the RS 5 is characterized by the classic single-frame grille. Wide air intakes provide the V8 and the brake system with a cooling air. The spoiler in the tailgate moves out at 120 km/h speed. The cockpit of the RS 5 is completely in black. Leather sports seats with Alcantara upholstery and headrests are integrated series, against surcharge also bucket seats. The delivery of the Audi RS5 will begin in spring 2010 just for 77,700 euros.
