When it comes to expectations, most of the breathless excitement usually comes from concepts unveiled by fave auto makers. This year the auto brands really pampered their fans with interesting SUV concepts. Ready to hit the market or just to tease car junkies, SUV concepts of the nearest future will treat your eye and make you drool over them. Check out new stunning SUV concepts by major automobile companies.
Lamborghini Conquisto
We’ve already seen the all-wheel-drive SUV produced by Lamborghini, an automobile company which is, as you know notable for supercars. Well, guess what…Lambo decided to build another SUV, but unlike the discontinued LM002, the upcoming concept features supercar styling, to be exact the Aventador’s styling. Named the Conquisto, Lamborghini SUV/Crossover was designed by David Cordoso, a Belgian designer. It’s hard to believe, but the new concept will compete with Porsche Cayenne. As for the powertrain, the Conquisto will carry either the Aventador’s V12 or the Gallardo’s V10, or even the more efficient Audi-based V8 engine. Expect the Conquisto to roll out in one or two years.

Bentley SUV
Whether you like it or not, but here’s another luxury auto brand making a SUV. Yeah… there are drivers who still want a luxury SUV, even though building a sport ute by Bentley may sound like a weird combination. The automaker isn’t going to compete with Cayenne or Range Rover though, but positions its SUV above any other current SUVs. The future vehicle is likely to cost starting $140,000. Expect the SUV to be unveiled at Geneva car show. Sharing the same platform as Audi Q7, the vehicle will be powered with its W12 as well as with the V8 noticed before in Continental GT V8. BMW i3 Concept
This futuristic looking BMW, named the i3 made its debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show. Featuring room for four adult occupants, the i3 also boasts the impressive 200 liters of luggage space behind the rear seats. Its plug-in system is actually a compact electric motor mounted over the rear axle. There’s also an optinal REx or the range extender powertrain for those with longer commutes. BMW i3 makes 170 hp and 184 lb-ft. It takes less than eight seconds for the concept to achieve 62 mph. The “city vehicle” will be launched by the automaker in 2013 with the premium hybrid sportscar followed a year later.

Hyundai Curb Concept
The newly introduced concept vehicle now moved Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language in a more youthful direction. Forget about traditional box-like design, since the automaker chose to build something significantly more curvaceous and sleek. While the powertrain used for Curb concept is Hyundai’s new 1.6-liter Gamma inline-four with the turbocharger added, the overall output is 175 hp. Featuring a dual-clutch transmission, the concept boasts 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. You know what’s funky? It’s the Curb’s large 22-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin tires, yet featuring custom saffron-colored tread pattern. Well, it’s deff suitable for the urban concept vehicle.

Maserati Kubang
Hm…Seems like Maserati is thinking of joining the SUV segment again. Indeed, after linking to Chrysler and Jeep, the automaker has got an easy access to the SUV architecture. And while the new Kubang concept got Jeep roots, its engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension are pure Maserati. The SUV received an updated version of Maserati’s V-8. There are only a few details about this SUV revealed, but it is obvious that the vehicle will roll out in 2013.

Land Rover DC100 and DC100 Sport
Land Rover showcased two versions of the concept SUV (the hardtop and the open top, DC100 Sport) at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which were designed by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s director of design. The off-road concept (the DC100) is an example of a SUV that could replace the long-running Defender. The 3-door DC100 concept is fitted with a turbocharged version of 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, while the 2-door sport version (no roof) is powered by a petrol unit.

Seat IBX Concept
Seat IBX concept is certainly a two-door mix of SUV and sports car and it’s the second Seat’s concept car to feature future design language. The IBX concept was first noticed at the Volkswagen Group’s pre-show party. What’s not usual for this concept is the lack of chrome or any show car jewelry usually found on concepts. Indeed, Seat IBX’s exterior is minimalist and clean. There are not many details revealed concerning the powertrain. The automaker only mentioned that the concept can run 28 miles on an electricity alone.
