Seems like the automaker needed to create a new sporty image due to the high necessity to increase the sales and it did a good job since the C-X16 concept shown at the Frankfurt Auto Show last September received positive feedbacks. Jaguar has already announced that the cool-looking and fast convertible will roll out as the Jaguar F-Type (the fourth model in Jaguar’s lineup) later this year. Jaguar F-Type: Powertrain

There won’t be a V-8, as rumors have suggested, meaning that we can expect a more efficient and powerful version. With no official details about new Jag’s powertrain revealed, the automaker claimed that a range of engines will be available for the model, including a new powerplant family. For instance, the concept previewed at the Frankfurt Auto Show, carried the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 under its hood, a unit capable of making 376 hp.

What’s the Fuss?

The new Jag’s development is certainly a vivid representation of the brand’s ambition and grounded confidence. Apparently, the core desire of Jaguar engineers and design team is building a world-leader in a market segment, and an aggressive, stylish sports car will do just that.

With the model’s stringent development schedule moving to a final on-road testing and the engineering prototypes taking off from the plant, expect the new Jag to roll out really soon. For now, get teased with these vids.
