Honda engineers are hard working at their new versions of the next generation Honda Civic, which is likely to be released in 2011 as a model of 2012. 2011 CR-Z prototype, which will debut at the Tokyo Auto Exhibition in October, will serve as a reference point for us when defining the new Civic’s appearance.
The CR-Z hatchback and the new Civic will, apparently, have much in common, including a hybrid power unit, consisting of 1.5 liter gasoline engine combined with auxiliary Honda Integrated Motor Assist motor. To the car will be offered with six-speed manual transmission or variable transmission.
Honda continues to play catch-up with Toyota Prius, which is considered the ideal embodiment of the a hybrid car. The success of the entire Civic model line depends on the hybrid Civic success.
