There is something about Detroit Auto show being the first, yet the biggest one of the year. Those who don’t know what this show is about (if there are any), NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) is held for auto manufacturers to display their newest models. This year the show opened for the press on January, 9 and will be available for the public on January, 14. This year’s most notable debuts are the following models: Acura NSX concept, Dodge Dart, Cadillac ATS, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, and Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid.
Sure, there were dozens of new cars and concepts presented at this year’s Detroit Auto show, but what I liked the most is the styling cues of future that some auto makers introduced to us and the return of some classic names. Now check out most mind-blowing cars that made their debut at North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below.
One of the best-looking cars presented at the show was Lexus LF-LC hybrid coupe concept which featured styling cues from the new GS and the LFA supercar. While there are still no details on powertrain released, we expect this stunning ride to be a rocket.

Luxurious and featuring a performance twist, 2013 Cadillac ATS arrived as a direct rival to the segment leading BMW 3 Series. It’s all about maximum performance and efficiency due to weight reduction taken into consideration while developing the model. Three powertrains are offered for Cadillac ATS: base 2.5-liter 4-cylinder to deliver 200 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque, a mid-level turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit which makes 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, and a top-level direct-injection 3.6L V6 that features 318 hp and 267 lb-ft.

Guess what? Scion Racing presented the 2013 FR-S Drift Car, and it’ll be the Formula Drift race car for the 2012 drift season. The model is turbocharged and features 600 hp and over 500 lb-ft of torque. As soon as the Formula Drift season opens (April 6-7th), we’ll be hearing more, and for now it’s clear that the FR-S will use KW suspension and Hankook tires for the 2012 season.

Being revived, Acura NSX is a legend that has lost some weight due to Acura’s race inspired philosophy as well as lightweight build materials. The iconic NSX gets the mid-mounted direct injection VTEC V6 unit with the SH-AWD system. The latter is paired with a dual clutch transmission that has its own electric motor capable of giving the model three separate electric power plants.

Looks like the revealed Jetta Hybrid was designed by Volkswagen to appeal to American tastes as we just love hybrids. lol Moreover, the car got an incredibly high fuel economy rating. Powered by 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, new Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid makes 150 hp and 184 pound-feet of torque.

The Scion FR-S’s sister, Subaru BRZ is powered by 2.0-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine which makes 200 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. You’ll be surprised, but this car is among the lightest two-door coupes on the market. Seems like it’ll be one of the most fun to drive cars as soon as it goes on sale.

While compact cars represent 15 percent of the total US vehicle market nowadays, new Dodge Dart is likely to make a statement in the compact segment. Sharing the same platform with Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the Dart was lengthened and widened though in order to meet North American tastes. As for engine options, the 2013 Dodge Dart will carry the 1.4L turbocharged Fiat MultiAir unit, making 168 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Other engines are the “Tigershark” 2.0L and the “Tigershark” 2.4L MultiAir four-cylinder.

Two surprising concept cars were presented by Chevy: the Tru 140S and the Code 130R. While Chevy Code 130R brings some American muscle car styling to the compact coupe segment, the Tru 140S features more modern take on the small sports coupe theme. Both concepts are fitted with the 1.4-liter Turbo Ecotec engine delivering 150 hp.

Wider. Lower. Sportier. Here’s a new Volkswagen’s approach to the new Beetle. Volkswagen’s concept, the E-Bugster is an electric vehicle that is fun to drive due to its two-seat cabin, cropped windshield and swoopy roof. The delivered power is 114 hp and the projected range is 100 miles.

It’s all about the powertrain when it comes to new Bentley Continental GT V8, as its looks are very similar to any other Continental GT. Equipped with 4.0-liter, twin-turbo, V8, the car has an output of 500 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. While performance is of main point here, new Continental GT reaches 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and features the top speed of 188 mph.

Lighter and more fuel efficient, new Toyota Prius has “C” in its name which stands for city. The power comes from a 1.5L four cylinder engine that makes 73 hp and from electric engine which produces 66 hp. Both engines are mated to variable transmission. Priced $19,000, the Prius C got a combined city/highway rating of 53 mpg.

The newly debutted 2013 Ford Fusion has set new records for style and fuel economy. Offered with three gasoline engines, one of which is a 37 mpg highway 1.6-liter EcoBoost, new Ford Fusion features 47 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.
