2011 Ford Mondeo – Facelift Before The Next Generation

In January there were reports that Ford plans to begin selling an updated version of their Mondeo sedan later this year . Today, the Internet is full of “spy” photos of the vehicle without any test camouflage.

Ford Mondeo will get a pair of new petrol engines with direct injection technology: 1.6-liter engine, which will produce 160 hps, and 2-liter 200 hps motor with 300 Nm of torque. Ford will also add a new 160-horsepower TDCi engine to the range of power units. The car will be offered with the Powershift transmission with two clutches as an option.

According to preliminary information, the U.S. carmaker plans to introduce the upgraded Mondeo at the international motor show in Paris. It will be produced in the “sedan”, “wagon” and “hatch” bodies, like the current generation.

Some Western publications write that Ford is already working on the next generation Mondeo. The debut of the new generation Ford Mondeo is expected in the next 18 months, and the production version of the car should arrive in 2012.
