While speed is a key aspect for many men when it comes to vehicles, I decided to list the fastest cars in the world that are measured by tested top speed. The faster car you own- the cooler you are on the road. And because it is no average car, you’ve got to pay more to get it, as well as you’ve got to pay higher tax. Well, sure, not everyone can afford such toys, and that makes them even more special. Okay, I no longer want to keep you in the dark. You are about to find out the fastest cars available on the market and how fast they are. I’m talking here about production models only which are ranked by 0-60 mph acceleration times. Note: theoretical speeds are not taken into consideration!
15. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is designed to achieve a top speed of 211 mph. This toy zooms from 0 to 60 mph in a matter of 3.3 secs. Equipped with V12 engine, this Lambo makes maximum 640 hp. Its base price is US$430,000.
14. Pagani Zonda F
Running at top speed 215 mph, this sports car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph only in 3.5 secs. Carrying the Mercedes Benz M180 V12 engine (max power is 650 hp), the Pagani Zonda F costs $667,321.
13. Ascari A10
Once you press the gas pedal to the limit, Ascari A10 will be running 215 mph. It only needs 2.8 secs. to hit 60 mph. The car is powered by 625-hp V8 S62 engine from BMW company. If you want to park this amazing sports car in front of your house, you need to have $650,000.
12. Jaguar XJ220
At max speed, Jaguar XJ220 goes up to 217 mph. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 secs. If you open the hood, you’ll find a twin turbo powered V6 engine with 542 hp over there. If you want to bring the car home, you’ve got to pay $650,000.
11. Ferrari Enzo

10. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster
This exclusive car boasts a twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine which makes 678 hp. It achieves top speed of 217 mph and needs only 3.4 secs to zoom from 0 to 60 mph. Being a limited-edition model (with five units ever produced), Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster costs $1,850,000.


9. Noble M600
The speed limit of the car is 223 mph. Noble M600 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that can distribute 650 hp. The super car is retailed for $330,000.



8. Gumpert Apollo
You only need to kick the gas pedal 3.0 secs to make Gumpert Apollo running at 60 mph. Having the 4.2 liter V8 engine that houses 650 hp, it reaches the top speed 224 mph. Before you can ride it, all you need to have is $450,000.


7. McLaren F1
Having an ability to speed up to 240 mph, McLaren F1 is the fastest car in the 20th century with doors looking like bat wings. Lol To hit 60 mph, the car only needs 3.2 secs. Equipped with BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 engine, the super car makes 627 hp. The base price is $970,000.


6. Koenigsegg CCX
Koenigsegg CCX can jump from 0 to 60 mph in mere 3.2 secs. The top speed of the car is 245 mph. Once you open the hood of this amazing car, you’ll find the 806 hp V8 engine there. The car is retailed for $545,568.



5. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo
At max speed, Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo goes up to 248 mph. It only needs 2.8 secs. to hit 60 mph. The smooth car boasts a twin turbo all aluminum V8 engine which makes 750 hp. To have such a ride in your garage, you need to have $555,000.


4. SSC Ultimate Aero
The SSC Ultimate Aero was known as the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010 after being tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records. Carrying the twin-turbo V8 engine with 1183 hp, the car accelerates to 60 mph in only 2.7 secs. Its top speed is 257 mph while its base price is $654,400.



3. Koenigsegg Agera R
The Agera R is a choice of those who’s into snow sports, as it’s fitted with a Ski Box and winter tires. While it has a massive theoretical top speed, its current speed is 260 mph. The snow car is expected to be the Bugatti’s arch enemy for the next 5 years. Outfitted with 5.0-liter V8 engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp, Koenigsegg Agera R reaches 60 mph in a matter of 2.9 secs.



2. Hennessey Venom GT
With a price tag of $950,000, the car has yet to be tested and proven, but it is possibly hitting a top speed of 275 mph. The closest competitor of the fastest car (which you will find out soon) has a 6.2-liter LS9 turbocharged twin turbo V8 engine with an output of 1200 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in mere 2.5 secs.



1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
The most expensive production car in the world (base price is $2,400,000) carries aluminum, narrow angle 8 liter W16 engine, which makes 1200 hp. It only takes 2.4 secs for this super car to accelerate to 60 mph. Its top speed is 267 mph.
